The "music industry" is a billion dollar industry that has surfaced in the last 75 years.  Artists create music and industry professionals monetize that music. In the last 15 years since the coming of the internet, this industry has experienced un-forseen transformations and threats, particularly to consumer licensing revenues.  The availability of music on the internet has changed consumer patterns to the extent that the average person between 18-35 feels it is okay to acquire copyrighted material by illegal means.  There are many companies, organizations, lobby groups who wish to reverse this change, and regain control over copyrighted materials.  TuneRights is neutral on this issue, and is concerned, instead, with a different and more relevant question: How can the average consumer be (re)motivated to input money into the music industry, as they did only 20 years ago?
