The Value of a Song

Each song is entirely unique. Each song has it's unique appeal, unique characteristics and unique economic potential.

Some songs generate 100's of thousands of dollars as the years go by...Another will generate a few100 dollars over it's entire lifetime. Still others... nothing. Who can decide whether  a song will be a big hit, or a big flop?

The joy of speculating is enjoyed by many. An artist with a new song will claim, "It's a hit!" The record label may have another opinion. Friends and family may share the optimism or have a more modest view of the glamour to come.

TuneRights bring the joy of speculation to the masses.  TuneRights lets the people decide.  One fan may see the potential of a song and buy 100% of the shares for a few hundred dollars. That "investor" or fan may never see their money again, or they may have made the best investment of their life! Who knows...? Time will tell. Time will show whether a song is undervalued or overvalued on TuneRights.

There are some other aspects to the TuneRights market-place that aren't solely related to earning money. Investing in songs is synonymous to direct support. Fans who invest in music are making a clear statement to the creative people who brought them that music: "I value what you do. I support music." Considering the times, and the fact all music is available via bit torrent sites, this is a very strong statement, and I wager, a statement that we will hear echoed throughout the next era of music consumption. It's no longer "clever" to steal music. In fact it's disrespectful. It's not cool. Investing in music is a way that consumers can give back to the creative community.

I support music. Do you?
